Karadede FAIR
Karadede Fair; It is a fair held on 6 May every year from the Ottoman period until 1965 in Gökçeağaç District of Bafra district of Samsun province. Although the exact beginning date is not known, it is understood that it has been established for at least 300 years according to oral history.
The name of the fair comes from the person who gave his name to the village cemetery and whose grave is in the same cemetery and is called Black Dede among the people. The fair is established in honor of this person.
In the years it was organized, fair events such as wrestling were held. Today, the grave belonging to the person called Black Dede is visited by the people and wishes are made by tying cloths to the branches of the tree in his grave or sticking stones to his wooden grave.
Organized since 1969, the regular fair was started to be organized again in 2011 by GÖKDER, in which the educator Turgut DEMİR was hosted. The establishment date of the fair is fixed and every year it is in the same order as the old last day.
After a 46-year hiatus, about a thousand people attended the fair, which was held on September 3, 2011. The second fair in 2012 was attended by fifteen thousand people on 26 August 2012. Twenty thousand people were reached at the organized fair on August 25, 2013. Information on over twenty-five thousand registered in the Historical Karadede Fair, which was last scheduled for Sunday, August 31, 2014. Since 2013, 2 activities have been started on the morning of August, on the day and on the Sunday. The main intense participation is experienced on Sunday. With the setting up of their stands on Saturday mornings, the night continues with the arrangement concerts of the fair night. On Sunday, the most crowded moment is a fair with the slogan of low citizens. In his Sunday training, he can train nationally famous people. Folk dance performances, illusion shows, local food competitions and auctions are some of the events on Sunday.
There is a wide range of ordinary everyday items in Karadede Fair, from shoes to tractors, bank promotion stands and butchers. It is assumed that the turnover of the fair in 2014 alone is 1 million TL above the city. In many big and national companies, special campaigns are organized by these companies at the exhibition and sales stands and sales fairs.
Karade Panrı In 2014, our project called Fairs in Turkey, in cooperation with Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University and TÜBİTAK, was examined by an academic team and became a World Cultural Heritage candidate.
In the fair, with the open technique method, the fair owner is used in the vehicle and the income obtained is used in the financing of the fair.
Karadede Fair has been held in T.C. since 2014. It started to be financially supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
