The Kızılırmak Delta is one of the largest deltas in Turkey. Flooded forests (Galeriç) in the delta are deciduous forests that are completely covered with water in spring. The Kızılırmak Delta has been included in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Tentative List. The Kızılırmak Delta is one of the largest deltas in our country, formed by the alluvium carried by the Kızılırmak river. It is located within the borders of Bafra, Engiz and Alaçam districts of Samsun province.
