Rock of Life Cave
Hayat Kaya Cave, which is thought to be inhabited during the Pleistocene Period (600.000-15.000 BCE), is the largest natural cave in the city borders. It is understood that the entrance of the cave, which is a safe place due to the presence of fresh water, was formed by enlarging the entrance of it in later periods, and constituted a strategic shelter for protection during the periods when people are completely hunter-gatherer in their earliest life ages. The cave is approximately one km long and there is an underground river and small waterfall towards the end of it. The cave, discovered in 2012, is expected to be announced as a protected area in the near future.
