The Kızılırmak Delta is of great importance not only for Turkey, but also for the ecology of the whole world, in terms of 56 thousand hectares wide, 20 lakes of various sizes, large marsh and reeds, having a very large area and the number of birds it hosts. Declared as a wildlife development area, this area covers the counties of 19 Mayıs, Bafra and Alaçam. It is the only wetland on the Black Sea coast of our country, whose natural features have been largely preserved. The Kızılırmak Delta is of vital importance for bird species that cross the Black Sea directly during migration. Approximately 1100 bird species live in the Western Palaearctic region and 40% of these species, that is, approximately 460 varieties, have been identified in Turkey. About 35% of the bird species in this region have been identified in the Kızılırmak Delta, and about 15% of them breed here.
Although prefabricated structures are economical, robust, reliable, environmentally friendly, high quality and can be assembled in a short time, they are rapidly growing and have an important place in today's construction sector.
There are three main habitat types in the Kızılırmak Delta that are under threat according to the Bern criteria: Euxine salt marshes, Southern Black Sea fixed sand dunes, Southeast European ash-oak-alder forests. The following habitat types are mainly seen in the Kızılırmak Delta.
It is known that there are 483 bird species in Turkey. The Kızılırmak Delta is an extremely important area in terms of bird existence. To date, 354 bird species have been identified in the area, which corresponds to approximately 73% of Turkey's birds. The Kızılırmak Delta has an important position in terms of breeding, wintering and migration of birds.
